京都御所のすぐそば、今出川駅から徒歩3分の住宅街にこの家はあります。
解体前の家は損傷が激しく、補修箇所を見極めながら小さくて居心地のいい家を目指しました。
1階はリビングの庭に面する3枚の引込みテラス窓をすべて引込むとテラスとつながり開放的な空間となります。
テラスにはオーニング（出幅2メートル）を設置してあり、日中ならそこで本を読んだり友人を招いて小さなパーティもできます。
リビングの上部は吹抜けているのでより広く感じます。
2階は寝室と書斎、2帖和室があり静かで上質なプライベート空間となっています。
1階リビングの造り付けテレビ台は家具作家の坂田卓也さんにお願いしました。


This house is located in a residential area just next to the Kyoto Imperial Palace and 3-minute walk from Imadegawa Station.
The house was severely damaged before demolition, and we aimed to create a small and cozy house while identifying areas for repair.
On the first floor, three sliding terrace windows facing the garden in the living room are all retracted to create an open space connected to the terrace.
The terrace has an awning (2 meters wide), and during the daytime, you can read a book there or invite friends over for a small party.
The upper part of the living room is vaulted, making it feel more spacious.
On the second floor, there is a bedroom, a study, and a 2 square meter Japanese-style room, creating a quiet and private space of high quality.
The built-in TV stand in the living room on the first floor was designed by Takuya Sakata, a furniture artist.
