大徳寺の南、船岡温泉の近く京町屋が多く残る住宅街にこの家はあります。
玄関は自転車を置いたりご近所の方とのちょっとした交流スペースになるように広めの三和土風土間としました。
衛生面に配慮し玄関を上がると正面に手洗いを設けました。
LDKはひとつの空間になっており、どこからでも庭を眺めることができ季節の移ろいを楽しめます。
京町屋特有の暗さを解消するため4つのトップライトを設けました。
一つ目、階段上部から降り注ぐ光が障子を通してキッチンまで届きます。
二つ目、1階小上がりの上部吹抜から光がダイニングへまわります。
三つ目、1階洗面室に。
四つ目、2階子供部屋は昼間読書や勉強するのに十分な光が入ってきます。
キッチン奥の広いパントリーをはじめ小上がり下の引出し収納、各部屋に十分な収納スペースを設けています。
庭の奥に物干しスペースがあり、室内からは見えないようにしています。
断熱改修することで寒くない京町屋を実現することができ、これからの京町屋を残していくうえで大事な一歩を踏み出せたのではないかと思います。

This house is located in a residential area south of Daitokuji Temple, near the Funaoka Onsen , where many Kyo-machiya houses remain.
The entrance is a large "Tataki"-style floor to serve as a space for storing bicycles and for socializing with neighbors.
A hand washroom is located in front of the entrance.
The LDK is a single space with a view of the garden from everywhere, you can enjoy the changing of the seasons.
Four top lights were installed to eliminate the darkness of Kyomachiya.
First (top light), light pouring down from the top of the stair reaches the kitchen through shoji screens.
Second, the light from the upper atrium of the small room flows into the dining room.
Third, in the bathroom on the first floor.
Fourth, the children's room on the second floor receives enough light for reading and studying during the day.
There is a large pantry at the back of the kitchen, as well as drawer storage under the small room, and ample storage space in every room.
There is a drying space at the back of the garden, which is not visible from the inside.
By renovating the insulation, we were able to create a Kyomachiya that is not cold, and we believe we have taken an important step forward in preserving Kyomachiya for the future.

We applied for the Eco-House Award 2022 and received the Encouragement Award.
